Plant the seed

“Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

We have all been there.

We all have a vision – a goal in our business (and life) that we want to achieve.

We want to create, to serve, to succeed and we want to do it now!

We prepare ourselves, put in the work, the months go by and we get anxious to reach the results we expect.

That’s when reality hits…

… patience truly is a virtue.

Today’s generation is one of privilege. The privilege to grow up in an era knowing immediacy like no other – information, services, communication, etc. – in every area. Great times to live in! It is all there, within grasp, no delay!

So they expect results to be there also, without delay.

And many times, it is like that! Click of a button and voilà – results!

But business (as in life) does not work or grow on just a click of a button.

Today’s technology is very helpful in managing the plethora of information, tasks, monitoring, planning, etc. that comes with productivity. But at the end of the day, it is what we do with all that information, how we apply it towards reaching our goal that delivers us to the finish line.

That is where experience comes in.

It requires all the learning possible, all the understanding possible, all the creativity possible, but it also requires all the patience possible.

Patience is understanding that you first have to plant the seed. That you need to lay the groundwork and foundation for your goal and then build and nurture its growth. Consistently and committedly with the confidence that the end is in sight.

It is not a matter of when – you will get there, trust me 🙂  – but a matter of how.

So take the dive. Lay the groundwork. Work hard. Be confident in your vision and that your goal is in reach. Don’t give up.

“The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.” Leo Tolstoy
